About Dr. Matthew Tufts, MD, FACS

Dr. Matthew Clifton Tufts, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Charlotte Harbor Surgical in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Dr. Tufts performs open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery, tailoring the approach to provide the optimal care for each patient.

A Florida native from Tampa who now lives in Punta Gorda, Dr. Tufts earned his Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences at Auburn University and his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a fellowship in minimally invasive, foregut, and bariatric surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Dr. Tufts is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He operates at AdventHealth Port Charlotte and Murdock Surgery Center.

He believes in working with patients to improve their health, and he is committed to providing comprehensive surgical care in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As a Florida native, he is determined to provide personalized, high-quality care to the patients of Southwest Florida.
